Fill gaps up to 1 4 inch in width with caulk.
Gap between tile and tub.
This is my first shower tiling project and the tub was not level at all.
To make sure my tiles were level i left a gap between the first row and the tub on one side see picture.
This will give you say a perfect 3 8 caulk line with an irregular wall to counter gap.
Similar to the gap that can exist between your wall tile and tub you may have a space between the floor and your bathtub.

The gap is 1 2 at its widest.
The line will continue maintaining caulk gap regardless of the gap of the wall to counter.
There is about 1 2 inch gap between the tub tile that i would like to caulk h.
As with any other gap near your bathtub you ll want to close the opening to prevent any possible water damage or the onset of mold and mildew.
This gap may widen over time as your home shifts.

Your tile person will take the largest gap and run a tape line using that as the thickness or the caulk.
